Orthopedic Medical Imaging Market continues to grow with GE Healthcare receiving the U.S. FDA clearance for its OEC 3D, a new surgical imaging system capable of 3D and 2D

Orthopedic medical imaging has many uses in modern medicine. Some of these include mammography, ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and tomography. These different types of technology are used in order to help doctors see and treat problems more clearly. Orthopedic medical imaging has become incredibly useful for the diagnosis of various orthopedic diseases. These diseases include arthritis, osteoporosis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, ligament injuries, etc. As per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), by 2040, around 78 million U.S. adults aged 18 years and above are estimated to have doctor-diagnosed arthritis. Similarly, as per Beaumont Health, around 100,000 to 200,000 anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) cases occur each year in the U.S. Such injuries and bone-related diseases require accurate diagnosis, for which medical imagining becomes the primary solution. Thus, such factors can augment growth of the orthopedic medical imagining market.

Developed countries such as the U.S. and Canada have robust healthcare infrastructure. Besides, there is a high incidence of orthopedic disorders, which can potentially accelerate the regional growth of the orthopedic medical imaging market. On the contrary, emerging economies in the Asia Pacific are exhibiting positive signs in terms of the adoption of orthopedic medical imaging. This is due to rising expenditure on healthcare facilities and growing geriatric population.

Recently, in March 2021, GE Healthcare received the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance for its OEC 3D, a new surgical imaging system capable of 3D and 2D imaging.

Orthopedic equipment comes in many different sizes and shapes. It should be strongly considered before buying any particular item. Some of the most popular brands include MRI gear, Tomography equipment, and ultrasound machines. All of these items are very useful for many different kinds of purposes. Finding the right orthopedic equipment is important. However, there are certain challenges associated with the adoption of these imaging solutions with high expenses in clinical trials being one of them. Besides, stringent regulatory restrictions and growing burden on healthcare budgets in the U.S. can impede growth of the orthopedic medical imaging market in the near future.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is often used to get information about the brain. This method works by creating a very strong magnetic field that is used to map out parts of the brain. Many times this is done in a lab. The elderly population is highly vulnerable to orthopedic diseases. With the rapidly growing geriatric population, the incidence of subsequent orthopedic diseases is likely to grow in the near future. As per the World Health Organization (WHO), the geriatric population is likely to reach 2 billion by 2050, increasing from 900 million in 2015. Such factors can stimulate growth of the orthopedic medical imaging market.

Increasing Incidences of Infectious Diseases to Augment the Antibacterial Drugs Market Growth

Antibacterial drugs are widely used to treat and prevent infectious diseases and are categorized into seven major classes, such as β-Lactams, phenicols, macrolides, quinolones, sulfonamides, tetracyclines, and aminoglycosides, based on their molecular structure. Antibacterial drugs destroy or slow down the growth of bacteria. These medications are also used to treat urinary infections caused by S. aureus, E. coli, Streptococcus pyogenes, and other bacterial infections. They include a range of powerful drugs used to treat diseases caused by bacteria. Antibiotics cannot treat viral infections, such as cold, flu, and most coughs. Antibacterial drugs play a major role in advanced healthcare, as they are widely used to treat infectious diseases, such as tuberculosis, malaria, typhoid, leprosy, hepatitis B, HIV/AIDS, and others. Thus, there is an increasing demand for antibacterial drugs worldwide.
