Orthopedic Medical Imaging Market continues to grow with GE Healthcare receiving the U.S. FDA clearance for its OEC 3D, a new surgical imaging system capable of 3D and 2D imaging

Orthopedic medical imaging has many uses in modern medicine. Some of these include mammography, ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and tomography. These different types of technology are used in order to help doctors see and treat problems more clearly. Orthopedic medical imaging has become incredibly useful for the diagnosis of various orthopedic diseases. These diseases include arthritis, osteoporosis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, ligament injuries, etc. As per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), by 2040, around 78 million U.S. adults aged 18 years and above are estimated to have doctor-diagnosed arthritis. Similarly, as per Beaumont Health, around 100,000 to 200,000 anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) cases occur each year in the U.S. Such injuries and bone-related diseases require accurate diagnosis, for which medical imagining becomes the primary solution. Thus, such factors can augment growth of the orthopedic medicalimagining market.

Market Dynamics

Rise in orthopedic disorders and increasing geriatric population that are highly susceptible to develop osteoarthritis is expected to propel the market growth. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 2013, around 28.2% of the global population aged 60 years and above suffer from osteoarthritis, with an estimated 80% to have mobility handicaps. WHO also states osteoarthritis is expected to be the fourth most common cause of disability by 2020. According to the International Osteoporosis Foundation, 2017, osteoporosis causes over 8.9 million fractures annually, resulting in an osteoporotic fracture every three seconds. One in three women over the age 50 is expected to experience osteoporotic fractures, as will one in five men aged 50 years and above.

Increasing cases of bone fracture trauma due to fall, motor vehicle accident or sports, requires efficient medical intervention, which is provided by orthopedic medical imaging systems, thus, augmenting the market growth. According to the National Trauma Institute, in 2014, traumatic injury is a major cause of death globally, with the major share of road injury (29.1%) and falls (11.6%). According to the National Institute of Health, 2012, knee is the most commonly injured joint by adolescent athletes with an estimated 2.5 million sports-related injuries presenting to emergency departments, annually. This number is expected to increase in the near future.

Increasing Incidences of Infectious Diseases to Augment the Antibacterial Drugs Market Growth

Antibacterial drugs are widely used to treat and prevent infectious diseases and are categorized into seven major classes, such as β-Lactams, phenicols, macrolides, quinolones, sulfonamides, tetracyclines, and aminoglycosides, based on their molecular structure. Antibacterial drugs destroy or slow down the growth of bacteria. These medications are also used to treat urinary infections caused by S. aureus, E. coli, Streptococcus pyogenes, and other bacterial infections. They include a range of powerful drugs used to treat diseases caused by bacteria. Antibiotics cannot treat viral infections, such as cold, flu, and most coughs. Antibacterial drugs play a major role in advanced healthcare, as they are widely used to treat infectious diseases, such as tuberculosis, malaria, typhoid, leprosy, hepatitis B, HIV/AIDS, and others. Thus, there is an increasing demand for antibacterial drugs worldwide.

Custom Antibody Service Market Segmentation Application, Technology and Market Analysis to 2028

The immune system produces antibodies in response to pathogen invasion. Antigens are the collective term for the invasive bacteria, viruses, or other foreign molecules. Antibodies are proteins, or polypeptides which have specific antigen recognition sites. It is possible to have antibodies made using custom antibody production when an antibody is required against a particular antigen but it is not offered by a supplier. These antibodies can be either polyclonal or monoclonal, depending on how they are produced and harvested. Polyclonal  antibodies  are capable of recognizing multiple sites on an antigen. They are derived from different B-cell lineages. Monoclonal antibodies recognize only one epitope or site on an antigen, and are derived from a single B-cell line. Global custom antibody service market is estimated to be valued at  US$ 444.85 Million in 2022  and expected to reach  US$ 930.46 million by 2030 , witnessing a  CAGR of 9.7 %  over...
